Name: The Dhol Foundation Johnny is a musician with an understanding of ethnic and western instruments and knows the capabilities of the instruments he works with. He is performing on a soundtrack for James Bond Movie, “Tomorrow Never Dies”, collaborated with Safri Duo, Ang Lee, Nustrat Fateh, Jimmy Page, David Arnold, Avril Lavigne (A cover for Knocking on Heavens Door for MTV), Nelly Furtado, Ted Baker, and U2. During the time he was with Trans Global, Johnny & The Dhol Found. landed the biggest European support tour at that time, with Led Zeppelin. He even joined the biggest world music band called Afro Celt Sound System working on releases of such singers as Sinead O’Connor. They are featured in Hollywood top-sellers such as “Gangs of New York” by Martin Scorsese and “Incredible Hulk” by Louis Leterrie. They also worked on several soundtracks with Peter Gabriel for “Rabbit-Proof Fence” and “The Last Temptation of Christ” By Martin Scorsese. In recognition of their success they were invited to open the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006. Through the watchful eye of Peter Gabriel, Johnny has played on IMAX Movie called “Sea Monsters”. In 2007, Johnny, Dips, Jas B, Hardev, and Rav played on stage with the Kaiser Chiefs for the BBC Electric Proms at the Roundhouse in Camden. He learned much from touring and performing as a front man for the band and soon became an integral part of this new wave. His skills developed to levels of variations in blending Eastern patterns on Western Instruments. In 1986, Johnny joined a world renowned bhangra band called Alaap and took the roll of the lead percussionist and dhol player for the band. To raise money for charity Johnny and The Dhol Foundation perform at London Parade, organize events, and precessions all over the world, watched by a million people.
